Add Hives

1. To add a new hive, first click on ‘Hives’ in the main menu. Then in the hive submenu, click ‘Add Hives’. You will then be presented with three ways to add a new hive. These are ‘Use Hive Template’, ‘Copy Existing Hives’ or ‘Create New’. You will see these hive types displayed as icons underneath the dd hive options .
2. When you select an option, you will then be presented with the ‘Add Hives’ main entry screen. This main screen is divided into two sections. The top half contains the interactive ‘Hive Builder’ and the bottom half the form for adding your hive details.

3. To continue with adding a hive, enter the name or number for your new hive.
4. Choose the ‘hive type’ from the dropdown list, and then input the number of frames that you are using (i.e. 11 for BS National).
5. Now, select where your hive is located by choosing a previously added apiary from the dropdown list and then select the date that your hive was added to the apiary.
6. Finally, if you want to add more than one hive at any one time, you can use the ‘add multiple hive selector’, to add up to 20 hives to your apiary at any one time.
7. Please note that the details that you have already entered, will also be used when adding multiple hives and hive names will be sequential, for example, if I start with Hive 1, the additional hives will be named 2, 3, 4 and 5.
8. Finally, click ‘Save’ to create the hives.
9. You will then see that the five new hives have been created and displayed in individual hive cards. You can click any hive card to view the detail screen for that hive.
